We recently wrote a blog about an application for a two storey extension that we submitted to Woking Borough Council.  Well, we are delighted to say that, on 5 March 2025, we received confirmation that Woking granted planning permission!  Our clients are, not surprisingly, thrilled!

We have now started preparing the Building Regulations package for our client, in order to ensure that the two storey extension complies with all relevant Approved Documents and is fit for purpose.  We are in partnership with most of the Surrey Local Authority Building Control Teams which means that we have a dedicated Building Control Officer at each Council.  This obviously speeds up the approval process as the officer knows our drawings and how we approach compliance with Approved Documents.

In this package of drawings, we include details such as structures, insulation, sanitation, drainage and waste disposal and ventilation.  This is a very technical part of the process, requiring technical knowledge of how buildings and construction work.    It doesn’t phase us though; we really enjoy this part of a project!  Once we complete the package of drawings, we will submit it to Woking and await their approval.  Then everything is in place to get cracking on site!
