This is for a first floor extension to a gorgeous semi-detached cottage in Busbridge. In the haze of the summer holidays, we completely forgot to tell you about this submission! This extension, located to the rear of the property will create much needed space for an additional bedroom and an enlarged family bathroom.
The property lies within the Green Belt, which adds complexity to the planning process. The house has already been extended, meaning that the Council will need to carefully consider further enlargement. To address this, we have ensured that the scale of the first floor extension remains minimal. We have ensured that the design is blended seamlessly into the existing structure and surrounding environment. To strengthen the case for approval, Archetype Central has also put forward a case for Very Special Circumstances. This is a thoughtful design despite Green Belt restrictions.
Archetype Central prepared all drawings and statements for submission to Waverley Borough Council. A bat survey was also commissioned due to the likelihood of bats using the house for roosting.
The new extension will provide significant benefits to the homeowners without disrupting the natural setting of the dwelling.
We look forward to the outcome of this application and seeing this project move forward in helping our clients create a more comfortable and functional home. If you have a similar project in mind, or live in the Green Belt and don’t know what’s possible, contact us today to discuss this!
