The clients provided their architectural brief – to design a new build; a detached, replacement dwelling. The replacement dwelling far exceeds the original house in terms of size and standard of accommodation by providing a larger floor area and contemporary layout. Furthermore, the exterior finishes give a clean fresh look with traditional features, using vernacular materials.  In addition, the landscape design ensures that the new building nestles comfortably into its setting and complements the exterior finishes of the new house.  Archetype Central Architectural & Planning Services produced the whole package of drawings in close liaison with the applicants and submitted it to Waverley Borough Council under reference WA/2021/02057.

It is pretty normal to see objections to planning applications for new dwellings but this application actually received local support!  The application was considered by the Planning Committee who commented that it was wonderful to see an application that actually enhances what was there before and very nice to see a beautiful mansion being built in the appropriate place.  The Planning Committee unanimously granted planning permission for the scheme.
